Where can I verify that I am registered for the race?
If you registered online, please go to the following link to verify your entry. Confirm your entry at Strictly Running!

Do I have to pay for both the 5k & the Family Fun Run?
Each person that enters in the 5k may also do the Family Fun Run without any additional cost. However, you will not receive a timing chip if you only enter the Family Fun Run.

Can I walk the 5k race?
In order to walk the 5k race, you must be able to complete a 20 minute mile. If you can’t do that we invite you to participate in the Family Fun Run. It is very dark at the end of the race and we are only allowed to have street closures at the top of the race until 10pm.

How long is the Family Fun Run?
It is approximately 1 mile.

Do I have to pay for my children to run in the Family Fun Run?
Yes. If your child is age 3 or under, please contact us at info@candlelightrun for more information.

Do you allow strollers?
We prefer no strollers. The course is very dark and it can be dangerous to both you and your child and others.

Can I bring my dog or other pet?
The City of Greenville has a No Pets policy at all city events. Unfortunately you will be asked to leave if you bring your pet.

Can I use to my iPod/mp3 player?
For your safety and the safety of others, we ask that you do not use any mp3 players during the race.

Is there a lost and found?
If you find or lose an item, we will have a Lost and Found box at the stage.

I have registered but can’t attend, can I get a refund or transfer entry to someone else?
Sorry, your entry is nontransferable and nonrefundable.

Where are the restrooms?
There are no public restrooms at the ICAR facility. We offer portable toilets for your convenience.

What is Chip Timing?

Our 5k race will be timed using the Single-Use ChampionChip Bib Tag technology! It will get your time right! Timing chips will be place on your bib again this year (Don’t worry about fastening them to your shoes!!!). In order to receive a time in our event, you must be wearing a bib this year!

You do not need to return this single-use, disposable chip!

As a USATF-sanctioned race, the Candlelight Run must follow USATF rules in determining the winners in the 5K race. This means that, a runner’s official race time begins when the starting horn sounds. USATF recognizes “gun times” and not “chip times” when determining a runner’s official finish time. Age group awards will also be determined by gun time.
